Choice and size

How do the five shapes differ?

U-shape: a frame that is wider at the bottom than at the top. A-shape: also wider at the bottom, with an additional crossbar. V-shape: wide at the top, tapering towards the bottom. X-shape: two crossed profiles, firmly welded together. Rectangular frames: a closed, rectangular frame.

The table leg finder works out which sizes fit under your tabletop.

Which frame heights are available?

  • 30–42 cm: usual for coffee tables and benches
  • 70–72 cm: usual for dining tables and desks
  • 80 cm: as an X-shape
  • 100 cm: for standing and bar tables, as rectangular frames
The finished height is the frame plus the thickness of the tabletop. A 72 cm frame with a 3 cm tabletop gives 75 cm.

Will the frame fit under my tabletop?

At its widest point, the frame must not be wider than your tabletop, otherwise the feet stick out. The table leg finder shows all sizes that fit your tabletop width and works out how far the tabletop overhangs on each side.

What do the dimensions mean, e.g. 30/45 × 40 cm?

The figure is width × height. With U-, A- and V-shapes the frame is a different width at the top and bottom: the first number is the width at the top under the tabletop, the second the width at the bottom on the floor. 30/45 × 40 cm therefore means: 30 cm wide at the top, 45 cm at the bottom and 40 cm high.

What is included in the set?

A set contains two frames, so everything for one table or bench, plus floor protectors. Screws are not included because their length depends on the thickness of your tabletop.

Can I order single table legs or other quantities?

No. Our frames are only available as a set of 2. The parcels are packed in advance so that we can ship quickly. For two tables, simply order two sets.

Which colours are available?

The frames come in matt black and anthracite, both powder-coated. Which colour is available in which size is shown on each product page.

Are custom sizes possible?

Unfortunately not. We currently don’t offer custom dimensions or custom colours. With the standard sizes, however, you can build most tables, benches and coffee tables.

Material and load

What are the table legs made of?

Powder-coated steel, made in the EU. The box section measures 70 × 20 mm with a wall thickness of 1.8 mm, and the mounting plate is 3 mm thick.

How much weight can the table legs carry?

A set of 2 carries up to 150 kg. That is enough even for heavy solid wood tabletops.

Can I use the table legs outdoors?

Yes. The powder coating protects the steel from rust, so the frames are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Do the table legs have floor protection?

Yes, every set comes with floor protectors. They protect parquet, laminate and tiles from scratches.

Which tabletops are suitable?

Basically any: solid wood, glued laminated wood, plywood, worktops or glass. The frames are sturdy enough for heavy tabletops.

Can I mount a glass tabletop?

Yes. With glass, tighten the screws carefully and place plastic or rubber washers underneath so that no tension builds up.

Assembly

Is assembly difficult, and which tools do I need?

No, assembly only takes a few minutes. You need a cordless screwdriver or a screwdriver and, depending on the tabletop, a drill for pre-drilling.

How do I mount the table legs?

  1. Turn the tabletop over, place the frames across the long side and centre them. Mark the position.
  2. Pre-drill depending on the wood, so the screws sit straight and nothing splits.
  3. Screw the frames to the tabletop through the slots.

Are screws included in the set?

No. The right screw length depends on the thickness of your tabletop, which is why no screws are included.

Which screws do I need?

The slots in the mounting plate measure 20 × 10 mm and the mounting plate is 3 mm thick. The screw head must therefore be wider than 10 mm, or you place washers underneath.

The screw must be shorter than the tabletop and mounting plate together, so that it doesn’t come out at the top. With a 27 mm tabletop, that means less than 30 mm.

Do I have to pre-drill the tabletop?

Depending on the material, it may be necessary. With hard wood, pre-drilling keeps the screws straighter and stops the wood from splitting.

What are the slots for?

Solid wood works: it expands and contracts depending on humidity. In the slots, the screw can move with it, and the tabletop doesn’t crack.
